Joanne's first Strictly Brackley Town show launched in 2023. With the help of her dedicated team, they welcomed 14 heroes to the dance floor for the very first time and raised over £11,500 for charity.
Following such a successful debut, the second season saw 15 incredible heroes take on the challenge. With the guidance of their dance partners, the event grew even bigger, raising a staggering £20,000 for two amazing causes.
In 2025, we celebrated our third year with 18 inspiring heroes who brought joy, courage and sparkle to the dance floor. Together, they helped raise over £14,000 for Animals in Need Northamptonshire and The Chatty Café Scheme – an incredible achievement made possible by the support of our vibrant community.
We’ll be back in 2026 supporting two more incredible charities — and applications to join the next unforgettable journey will be opening very soon!

Animals in Need
Northamptonshire
Animals In Need is an organisation dedicated to rescuing sick, injured, trapped and distressed wild and domestic animals. We provide veterinary treatment where necessary, care for and rehabilitate animals until they can be released or re-homed. Animals In Need was set up in 1990, the aim of the organization is alleviate suffering in animals.
In the years Animals In Need has been established, we have acquired a fully equipped animal ambulance, two water crafts and trailers for transportation, plus the usual first aid essentials. Although our first aid equipment is adequate it is regularly updated to current standards.
Animals In Need is a rescue organisation run by 8 members of staff and a team of volunteers, attending animal casualties in the Northamptonshire area. We attend to both domestic and wild animals, and in 1999 were asked by Northamptonshire Police to work with them attending road traffic accidents and out of hours emergencies.

Local Charity
The Chatty Café Scheme

The Chatty Café Scheme was set up in April 2017 by Alex Hoskyn who, a year earlier when her son was four months old, noticed how much you can be out of the house yet have no interaction with another person. On one of her usual visits to the local town centre with the pram, she sat in a café and observed an elderly lady sitting on her own looking fed up. On another table was a young man with additional needs and a carer and they were looking around the room not making conversation with each other. She thought about how nice it might be if there was a table where customers could sit if they were happy to talk to other customers.
A year later, the Chatter & Natter tables began and The Chatty Café Scheme was created. There are now hundreds of Chatter & Natter tables around the UK in cafes, pubs and community centres. Chatter & Natter tables are hosted by friendly volunteers who help ensure everyone feels welcomed when going along to their nearest group.
The Brackley Cafes are run by local hero Jon Haslam. We are so excited to be working with Jon and raising money for such a worthy cause!
